OLYMPIC MEDALISTS BECOME HONORARY MEMBERS OF THE LEGENDARY FRIARS CLUB

New York, NY - (September 9, 2008) – Icon Management and Launchpad Worldwide welcomed home Olympic Medalists Angelo Taylor, La Shawn Merritt, Shawn Crawford and Walter Dix with a victory celebration in which they were officially inducted into the legendary Friars Club as honorary members. Comedy’s “Queen of Mean” Lisa Lampanelli was in attendance along with CEOs from the sports and entertainment industries as the men signed a limited edition Nike cleat that will be auctioned off to benefit HealthCorps®, a 501C3 non-profit organization founded by Oprah Winfrey’s famed confidant Dr. Mehmet C. Oz, that provides America’s youth and families with knowledge, tools and support to make healthy choices.

For centuries, only those who have been extended invitations hold a title in the esteemed New York’s “Before All Things Brotherhood” association. These four Olympic Champions are now among the select 1,500 present-day members of The Friars Club. The after party was held at Marquee, New York's premier hotspot, where supporters celebrated. To further secure their indelible mark in history, the athletes, along with Kimberly N. Holland, CEO of Icon Management, long-jumper turned marketing specialist Llewelyn Starks of Nike (NKE) and Duncan L. Niederauer, CEO of the New York Stock Exchange commenced the opening bell ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange on Friday, September 5, 2008.

"We are honored to serve our USA Olympic Medalists in Track and Field, highlighting their achievements and branding their celebrity. Our welcome home ceremony at the Friars Club was a great success and a true testament to the character of the athletes, as they were inducted as honorary members of the Friars Club. Crossing the finish line of excellence is the best way to describe this prestigious series of events,” says Rob Love, President and CEO of Launchpad Worldwide.

"I am proud of each of our athletes that participated in the 2008 Olympic Games. They not only represented themselves and their country well, they represented Icon to the highest standard possible. They kept their faith in God and believed that they could do all things through Christ who strengthens them," adds Holland, who is the most successful African-American female sports agent in Track and Field history.
